We would like to introduce you more closely to our group of companies AK-Service, which is one of the largest manufacturers and suppliers of on-board service products. For over 25 years, we have been developing, manufacturing and supplying a wide range of on-board products for leading airlines.
We hope that everyone already knows that most of our products are manufactured in Russia. Our company has its own full-cycle production site in St. Petersburg (Russia). AK-Service has existed since 1994 and, developing and expanding every year, today it produces almost the entire range of goods for amenity kits: from toothbrushes and cosmetics to business-class pouches and children’s kits with augmented reality.
By 2020 our group of companies has its own sewing production, with more than 600 qualified employees, which produces cosmetic bags, slippers (more than 15 million pairs a year), eye masks, blankets and other comfort items. At our production of components, we make a wide range of accessories and personal hygiene items necessary on the road. Our facility for the production of cosmetics allow us to make toothpastes, creams, balms, hotel lines of cosmetics, both for our own needs and as part of contract manufacturing for our partners. Over the past couple of years, we have stepped even deeper and began to produce raw materials for a number of our products on our own, in order to experience minimal dependence on the market changes.
In 2018, we introduced a lean manufacturing management system that allows us to reduce costs, thereby maintaining low prices for our customers, as well as to control at all stages of production, eliminating the risk of defective products on board our customers. We are always glad to see guests at our factory, they can always come and see in real time how the products are made.
Moreover, AK-Service has a massive warehouse complex and an efficient logistics system that allows us to guarantee the best services and delivery in batches of any size in the shortest possible time worldwide.
Earlier this year, we already stated that we are taking seriously care for the protection of the environment and ecology, therefore, in 2020 we launched the New Life recycling project at our factory. We process used products and make completely new goods from recycled materials. This allowed us to enter new markets, in particular the market for cattle rugs, which are used in agriculture. In our plans for the next two years to expand the geography of the project and offer this option to all our customers.
In addition to real products, we also create augmented reality objects. Our «AK-digital» team is working tirelessly on new digital projects every day. We use the latest technologies so that our customers can diversify the leisure of their passengers with the newest innovations in the world of augmented reality.
